We are lucky to be located in a beautiful part of the country with miles of golden sandy beaches just a short walk away and we have missed being able to welcome guests through our doors.

When golf courses re-opened, our members flooded back to enjoy the wonderful greens and fairways, which we are proud to say have been maintained in pristine condition since the lockdown began, but we have missed our guests.

Indications are that hopefully we will soon get permission to re-open our wonderful new hotel, and we are currently working towards re-opening on Saturday 4th July, although this is very much dependant on Government decisions on the easing of lockdown rules. Stringent safety standards will apply, but rest assured that we will only proceed when we are certain it is as safe as possible to do so.

The safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority and our dedicated Covid19 safety officer is continually re-assessing guidelines and practices to ensure that our procedures are of the highest standards.

We are fortunate that our new hotel was designed with space in mind; the large rooms, wide corridors, spacious bar and dining facilities, are now more important than ever. We will also be using the outside seating area to maximum potential on dry days, with both meals and drinks available outside for those who would prefer.

All of this plus wide open fairways to enjoy, what more could you want?

Many of you will be aware that over the winter months we have re-designed two holes and created two completely new greens – providing variety and challenge to what is already a much-loved course.

We have created a new challenging dog leg par 4, the 16th, which features a well protected narrow green, this hole is currently in play. The other hole is a new par 3, 15th, which is a tricky double level green; which makes it a great challenge! The hope is this hole will be fully in play in July.

Despite wet conditions through the winter and dry conditions through the spring, our staff have worked tirelessly to ensure golf at Bridlington Golf Club in 2020 is something to savour.

Here in East Yorkshire, we have wonderful access to a huge array of attractions, so for those of you planning a staycation this year, why not mix that golfing break with a few days enjoying our beautiful harbour, beaches, cliff walks and countryside? You will not be disappointed.
